OLGA BLOEMEN
Olga Bloemen is a grassroots facilitator, educator and activist.
She's committed to playing her part in weaving life-giving ecologies through challenge and change - practising hope as a muscle.
With a background in Social Anthropology, she’s been involved in groups struggling for climate, food and land justice. Originally from the Netherlands, she's been living in Scotland almost half her life, and is currently living on a reforesting project near Penicuik, Midlothian.
Olga was excited to join G2G in 2021. Since then she's supported "Managing the Crash', the People's Assembly in Torry, and the Just Walk, and is currently organising around river regeneration in East and Midlothian, together with Andy Smith and others.
Over the past 9 years, she’s been part of Tripod, a collective supporting groups and movements working for positive social change in Scotland. In 2021, she helped to organise the Pilgrimage for COP26, a walk and a learning journey from Dunbar to Glasgow to build a community committed to climate justice in the lead-up to COP26. She’s an occasional poet and tends to agree with Mary Oliver: “There is only one question: How to love this world.”
